JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the PDI technician is to perform Pre Delivery Inspections on all types of buses.  The PDI tech will modify non-compliant buses to meet customer and DOT specifications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand DOT requirements with relation to School and Commercial buses.
  • Read and understand PDI work orders so you know what is required on each bus.
  • Modify each bus if necessary to meet DOT and customer specifications with regards to seat placement, air systems, chassis and body.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the DOT inspector and work with them on inspection day.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT requirements for commercial and school vehicles preferred.
  • NYS CDL, Class B driver license with Passenger Transport and Air Brake endorsements required.

CDL Driver- Part Time- Middletown, NY

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of a Part Time Driver is to safely deliver and/or pickup buses from customer locations and sublets.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver the assigned vehicle to its destination without incident.
  • Coordinate bus deliveries with the parts department to streamline parts deliveries.
  • Follow safety methods and work safely.
  • Deliver paperwork with the bus and collect check and other pertinent information from customers.
  • Complete a final cleanliness inspection and ensure bus is clean at point of delivery.
  • Respond to inquiries of staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, etc.
  • Pre-trip delivery vehicles (e.g. checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous experience driving buses or med to large trucks preferred.
  • NYS CDL, Class B driver license with Passenger Transport and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
  • Minimum of NYS Class D license with clean driving record required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Ability to make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions sufficiently to make deliveries, collect proper paperwork and properly answer customer inquiries.
  • Ability to write sufficiently to make proper notations on delivery paperwork.
  • Maintain speech and hearing sufficiently to orally communicate with customers, the general public, Supervisors and other employees.
  • Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices as to prevent injuries to self and other employees.

Washer/Detailer- Ravena, NY

The primary function of the Washer/Detailer is to clean both inside and outside of vehicles while adhering to company policies and procedures. The Wash Bay employee may also be required to clean the break rooms and offices. Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-8:30pm.

The primary function of the Washer/Detailer is to clean both inside and outside of vehicles while adhering to company policies and procedures.  The Wash Bay employee may also be required to clean the break rooms and offices. Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-8:30pm.

SUPERVISION

Close Supervision- The Washer/Detailer is assigned duties according to specific procedures.  Work is checked frequently, and in addition there may be formal training.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take direction from supervisor in washing vehicles.
  • Wash vehicles using cleaners and available equipment.
  • Wash Bay down at the end of each day.
  • Follow all prescribed Safety methods and perform work safely.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist co-workers with specific tasks when needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Knowledge of hazards related to cleaning supplies and car wash equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral instruction sufficient for following washing instructions.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for regular daily communication with employees and supervisors.
  • Hold and maintain a valid NYS Drivers License and Evidence of Insurability.
  • Be Safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices to prevent injuries to self and others.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Manual hand dexterity sufficient for using car wash and cleaning equipment.
  • Lift up to 10 lbs frequently to hold supplies needed to wash a bus.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally when heavy equipment or supplies are needed.
  • Occasionally push pull, climb, balance crouch, kneel and reach sufficient to access all areas of the bus.
  • Frequently stoop, squat and bend for working around low areas of the bus.
  • Vision sufficient to inspect work to ensure cleanliness will meet customer expectations.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Prep/Paint technician is to perform some or all of the following duties; prepare, repair or paint vehicles using supplies and equipment such as tape, sander, sandblaster, and grinder, wire wheel, fiberglass filler and paint sprayer.

SUPERVISION

Supervision- the Prep/Paint Tech performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to the supervisor’s guidelines.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take direction from a supervisor in prepping and painting vehicles.
  • Sand vehicles using sanders and a wire wheel.
  • Fill voids with fiberglass and sand to contour of the vehicle.
  • Remove lettering, chrome or other items in preparation for priming and painting vehicles.
  • Prime and paint vehicles according to industry standards and supervisor’s instructions.
  • Reassemble and re-letter following new paint.
  • Follow all prescribed Safety methods including and perform work safely.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous paint shop experience preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Paint/Reducer/hardener mixing.
  • Knowledge of hazards related to fume vapors and combustion of materials.
  • Knowledge of proper procedures to prepare vehicles for paint adhesion.
  • Understand and follow oral instruction sufficient for following painting instructions.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for regular daily communication with employees and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and understand text sufficient for comprehending written instructions for mixing paint and sufficient for reading company guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and self discipline to wear appropriate safety equipment when required.
  • Be Safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices to prevent injuries to self and others.

Sales

The New York Bus Sales “On The Road” Sales Team travels across the State of New York excluding Westchester & Rockland counties and all points south. The sales team works with school bus operators to identify their future needs and customize proposals to help the operators achieve their goals. The Sales Team is the face of the New York Bus, handling most direct dealings with our customers.

Administration

Our Administration department ensures that the needs of our customers are met and expectations are exceeded. The customer service support team, delivery, warranty, and sales admin reps work side by side with all departments to uphold the quality and service that New York Bus Sales represents.

Accounting

Our Accounting team provides services and financial support to all internal departments and to our valued customers. Accounting’s key function is to provide information to help manage the business. Accounting processes payroll, vendor billing, and customer collections, and monitors regulatory compliance.
