The primary function of a Part Time Driver is to safely deliver and/or pickup buses from customer locations and sublets.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver the assigned vehicle to its destination without incident.
  • Coordinate bus deliveries with the parts department to streamline parts deliveries.
  • Follow safety methods and work safely.
  • Deliver paperwork with the bus and collect check and other pertinent information from customers.
  • Complete a final cleanliness inspection and ensure bus is clean at point of delivery.
  • Respond to inquiries of staff for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, etc.
  • Pre-trip delivery vehicles (e.g. checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation of vehicle.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous experience driving buses or med to large trucks preferred.
  • NYS CDL, Class B driver license with Passenger Transport and Air Brake endorsements preferred.
  • Minimum of NYS Class D license with clean driving record required.

  • Ability to make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.

  • Understand DOT requirements with relation to School and Commercial buses.
  • Read and understand PDI work orders so you know what is required on each bus.
  • Modify each bus if necessary to meet DOT and customer specifications with regards to seat placement, air systems, chassis and body.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with the DOT inspector and work with them on inspection day.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Parts Manager is to produce a satisfactory profit while meeting the needs of the internal and external customer.  This objective will be accomplished through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory controls, staff utilization, pricing, and advertising.

 

SUPERVISION

The Parts Manager receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing the methods to attain them.  Generally the incumbent is in charge of an area of work, and typically formulates policy for this area but does not necessarily have final authority for approving policy. Overall results are subject to review but little or no input is received on details.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish pricing parameters and forecast profit goals for the department. Develop quarterly sales promotions.
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all parts department employees and ensure all HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, etc).
  • Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, paint shop and customers.
  • Analyze sales, payroll hours, inventory and other expenses to maximize profit goals.
  • Provide technical assistance to parts department employees.
  • Monitor parts department employee’s payroll records to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Locate out of stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order if necessary.
  • Handle customer complaints immediately and according to dealership guidelines.
  • Follow safety methods, work safely and enforce all company polices and procedures as well as governmental safety requirements, including but not limited to OSHA regulations.
  • Investigate employee injuries and assists in preparing injury reports.
  • Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations that may affect the parts department.
  • Attend meetings and travel to other NYBS facilities, customer locations, seminars, workshops to perform duties as required.

 

OTHER DUTIES

  • Ensure the new bus parking lot is secured nightly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a parts environment.

This process includes determining the best shipping method: UPS, motor freight, driver, or other methods.

SUPERVISION

The Shipper and Receiver performs a variety of shipping and receiving routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referral to the supervisor’s guidelines.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Check incoming merchandise against purchase orders for quantity discrepancies and damaged goods.
  • Inspect the quality and condition of the parts as they are received. Accurately note discrepancies on the purchase order.
  • Accurately label each part with the appropriate part number.
  • Properly put the parts in the correct bins or warehouse location.
  • Process sales orders by pulling and packing the ordered parts.
  • Determine method of payment and process accordingly; COD, Credit, Net 30.
  • Determine which delivery method is best and ship the items; UPS, Motor freight, Drivers, etc.
  • Create and/or fill sales orders for “walk in” customers.
  • Dispatch parts with drivers for customer delivery.
  • Reconcile the sales order using our business operating system (RIMSS).
  • Safely operate a forklift or other material handling equipment that is required for unloading and loading parts or to move large parts.
  • Verify all sales orders are prepared for invoicing by making sure they are all processed and entered into RIMSS.
  • Organize and relocate inventory as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Track and locate packages for customer inquiries.
  • Follow all prescribed Safety methods and perform work safely.

 

OTHER DUTIES

  • Report inventory discrepancies to Supervisor.
  • Assist other work areas when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivelent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Shipping and/or Receiving preferred.
  • Previous forklift certification preferred

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate proper use of RIMSS systems.
  • Ability to accurately count and distinguish between similar products.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cover assigned territory and accounts and sell product and service.
  • Plan, prioritize and manage assigned territory.
  • Call customers and set up times to go to location when recalls are generated.
  • Keep track of recall and repair work via log book or computer.
  • Answer phone calls; provide sales quotes and other information and generate parts orders via traverse.
  • Notify customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensure the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Assist in producing bus sales and parts sales through continued on road customer support and good client relationships.
  • Keep current on new products and product updates.
  • Follow up on critical issues presented by Sales, Service or Parts.
  • Make cold calls to potential clients.
  • Provide sales report upon request.

Sales

The New York Bus Sales “On The Road” Sales Team travels across the State of New York excluding Westchester & Rockland counties and all points south. The Sales Team is the face of the New York Bus, handling most direct dealings with our customers.

Administration

Our Administration department ensures that the needs of our customers are met and expectations are exceeded. The customer service support team, delivery, warranty, and sales admin reps work side by side with all departments to uphold the quality and service that New York Bus Sales represents.

Accounting

Our Accounting team provides services and financial support to all internal departments and to our valued customers. Accounting’s key function is to provide information to help manage the business.
